Steve Haskin grabbed his guitar and Karen Thomas sat alongside with her violin to fill the skyway level of the T building with their soothing sounds of classical music. They played from 11 to 1pm on the four days of April 15, 16, 23 and 24. Steve and Karen have a five track disc titled "Guitar and Violin."

Friday, April 17, the acoustic duo played at the East Side Food Co-op where they met. While talking to them during a break from playing on the 15th, Steve told me they have been playing together for three and a half years.

Steve Haskin is also in Trio Tipo, with him and Don Sellers on guitar and Terry Lee Storhaug on percussion. Trio Tipo's album is titled "Where We've Been" and consists of seven tracks.

Steve Haskin and Karen Thomas are both from Minneapolis. Steve has taught music at MCTC for over twenty years. I urge classical music fans and all those who appreciate great musicianship to visit www.stevehaskin.com and click the "Purchase a CD" link and take a listen. It was a pleasure to meet Steve and Karen and I have been having fun introducing their music to friends.
